As part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and delivering more environmentally sustainable services, we are now running our fleet on HVO – Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil. Our HVO is supplied from fully legitimate and environmentally sustainable sources, and we would like to thank our supplier for their support on this important initiative.
HVO is a biofuel made from waste, by-products and derived products from the food industry, with the added benefit of up to 90% lower net CO₂e Greenhouse Gas Emissions. This is a significant step towards a more sustainable future and reinforces our commitment to reducing our overall carbon footprint. There is also the added benefit that we can positively contribute to our customers’ sustainability objectives, given that we are undertaking contract works and/or haulage activities on their behalf. HVO can be used as a direct alternative to diesel fuel.
There are no material changes required to the engines of the trucks – it is simply a case of putting HVO into the tank as normal.
Carbon Benefit:
The main objective of utilising HVO on our fleet is to provide a more environmentally sustainable service to our customers. This initiative, combined with our new green energy-powered offices and workshop, located in the centre of the Lisheen Mine wind farm in Co Tipperary, demonstrates our commitment to reducing our overall carbon footprint and providing environmentally sustainable services to our customers.
